Hands down 5 stars. We loved this little apartment - spent 7 nights there and enjoyed every minute. The terrace is lovely, the kitchen fully equipped, the shower wonderful.
It’s little and it was exactly what we wanted. Perfect. The location is about a 30 minute drive from Chania, which suited us fine - we liked that Kalyves was quiet. Parking is slightly challenging and we were scared of scratching the rental car so we ended up parking down the road in a little free parking lot. Completely recommend this apartment!

We stayed 7 nights at the Ostria apartment in Avra Apartments hosted by Stelios and his wife Natasa. The apartment is very nice, very practical. We found everything you might need (air dryer, washing machine, cutleries and dishes). The place was very clean and we also appreciated a lot the mid-stay cleaning service. Stelios and Natasa are very friendly and helpful, their suggestions were precious and really helped us during our stay. There is a reserved free parking spot just in front of the apartment.
We truly recommend this place and we really enjoyed our stay!

Natasa and Stelios’ apartment is fantastic! It is clean, has all the necessary amenities and in a great location. Ten minute walk from the beaches and five minute walk from some great family run tavernas! The hosts were also extremely proactive and responsive. We would highly recommend staying here while in Crete!

Εκπληκτικό από όλες τις απόψεις! Είχαμε την ευκαιρία να απολαύσουμε την διαμονή μας στα συγκεκριμένα διαμερίσματα! Προσφάτως ανακαινισμένα, με τους ιδιοκτήτες να έχουν βάλει την προσωπική τους πινελιά στην διακόσμηση, η οποία ξεφεύγει από τις κοινότυπες περιπτώσεις δωματίων θερινής διαμονής! Πέρα από τα όμορφα δωμάτια, εκείνο που μας έκανε πολύ θετική εντύπωση ήταν η φιλική συμπεριφορά των ιδιοκτητών και η διάθεσή τους να μας εξυπηρετήσουν σε ότι τους ζητήσαμε! Αν και έχω πάει αρκετές φορές στην Κρήτη, οι πληροφορίες που μας έδωσαν για τα αξιοθέατα του νησιού ήταν τόσο αναλυτικές, γεγονός που σε έκανε να νιώσεις πως δεν έχεις δει τίποτα! 🙂 Το δωμάτιό μας ήταν καθαρό, ευρύχωρο με καλό γούστο στην διακόσμηση, διέθετε κλιματισμό, tv, κουζίνα, ψυγείο και μια εκπληκτική θέα στην θάλασσα, η οποία απείχε μερικές μόνο δεκάδες μέτρα. Το χωριό Καλύβες, διέθετε ότι χρειαζόμασταν από εστιατόρια, σουπερ μαρκετ, κτλ, όποτε εξυπηρετηθήκαμε άνετα. Βρίσκεται κοντά σχετικά στα Χανιά, με το πλεονέκτημα της δυνατότητας να μπορέσαμε να αποφύγουμε την πολυκοσμία και την φασαρία της πόλης, ενώ είμασταν αρκετά κοντά στο να την επισκεπτόμαστε όποτε επιθυμούσαμε. Το συστήνω ανεπιφύλακτα!!!

Tolle Unterkunft, auch für eine Reise mit einem Kleinkind. Neben der schönen Wohnung mochten wir auch die ruhige Straße mit Blick aufs Meer und die sehr netten Nachbarn. Wir haben uns hier rundum wohl gefühlt.

Amazing apartments in a wonderful location. We have just returned from our second trip to Kalyves. The first time we stayed in the Kalyves Beach Hotel, which was very pleasant, but this time we decided to try something different. Natasa was very attentive during the booking process, she made it a very easy pocess, and she was so friendly in answering all of my many questions before our arrival. She arranged our transfer from the airport with George Terezakis, a neighbour of the Avra Apartments whose taxi service I would also highly recommend. Upon arrival we were met by a lovely lady called Anna who showed us our apartment (Sirokos). We absolutely loved the layout, decor and position of this apartment and all of its quaint Greek traits. This apartment has a fantastic sea view which can be viewed from three balconies. It had every amenity which could be wished for and many personal touches a hotel just would never be able to offer. Our towels and bedding were changed regularly and the toilet roll topped up - fantastic service. It was wonderful to meet Natasa in person; she was as friendly in real life as in her emails! We all hope very much to return to Avra Apartments in the near future.

Stayed at Avra Apartments during Christmas 2021 whilst house searching in the local area. We wasn't originally supposed to be staying here but we had a bad experience at an another Air B&B so abandoned that one and found Avra Apartments last minute, a couple of days before Christmas. Natasa and the hosts were absolutely fantastic, we informed them of our poor experience at the other apartment, and they had the heating ready for us to arrive. We spent up to New years Eve there, and Natasa was great asking how we were getting on and recommending her favourite restaurants open out of season as well as the gifts of wine, fruit and treats. There is a fantastic cake bakery at the bottom of the drive that we use all the time when in Kalyves.
Apartments are great size and modern.
The location is great and easy to walk into town. Some parking spaces are available, but if not, parking is available nearby. The TV had Netflix installed so we could plug into our account during the evenings. We're very grateful to Avra for their hospitality.

Stelios was a great host and super helpful. The Appartement is nice, clean and has an awesome view at the sea. Thank you!

Το καλύτερο καλωσόρισμα με ρακές, ρακόμελα και θέα στη θάλασσα! Ευρύχωρα, πεντακάθαρα δωμάτια με προσεγμένη διακόσμηση που δένει αρμονικά με το κρητικό τοπίο και την ανεμελιά των διακοπών, προσφέροντας ταυτόχρονα τις ανέσεις και τη βολή που βρίσκεις μόνο στο σπίτι σου. Ζεστοί άνθρωποι, αυθεντικά χαμόγελα και η κρητική φιλοξενία στα καλύτερά της! 5 αστέρια ανεπιφύλακτα, συν άλλο ένα για τις "λεπτομέρειες" που επιμένετε, κάνοντας τη διαφορά! Θα ξαναρθούμε το συντομότερο! 🙂

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour a Kalyves, chez Stelios.
Le logement est impeccable et proche de différentes activités et lieux touristiques accessibles en voiture.
Stelios est un hôte très accueillant, disponible et prévenant.
Nous recommandons sans hésiter cet appartement (petit plus pour la terrasse avec vue sur la mer).
